Several consultations concerning change to, or new, schools in the county have been reported back to Bridgend Council’s Cabinet for discussion this week.

A full public consultation has already been undertaken regarding proposals to build a new Mynydd Cynffig Primary School at the current junior school site.
There was a 28-day period in which formal objections could be tabled (pdf). One objection was tabled due to a lack of clarity over the future of the Pwllygath allotments.
In response, BCBC said the replacement allotment site “would provide the same number of plots and accommodation”. The new site would be designated a statutory allotment and each new plot would be provided with a shed and water butt. Pigeon lofts and chicken coups would also be replaced and fencing improved around the whole site.
BCBC did, however, confirm that they wouldn’t be providing replacement greenhouses or utility supplies.
Due to the objection, the decision could be “called in” by the relevant council committee if requested.
