Aldi has opened a public consultation on plans to build a new store at Brackla Industrial Estate.
The proposed store – technically within the Coity Higher Community Council area – would be accessed directly from the Ffordd Cadfan roundabout.
It would be directly to the north of the proposed Ridgeway housing development and adjacent to the proposed new Ysgol Bro Ogwr.
The store would be about a third smaller than the recently opened store in Porthcawl, at just 1,344 square metres. It’ll also have 127 parking spaces, with 4 electric vehicle charging stations.

Aldi expects the new store to create between 30-50 full and part-time jobs.
Another important note: Aldi says that the new store “would complement our existing trading store in Bridgend (Cheapside)”.
All of the information is available here. The 28-day consultation will close on or around 3rd October 2023, with Aldi expecting to submit a full planning application at some point during October.
