Draft contract prepared for Bridgend Police Station purchase and demolition

Demolition of the former police station was completed in the last few weeks, though work is yet to start on the demolition of the Cheapside multi-storey car park.

Tenders for the demolition of the car park are set to be published in August 2023, with work expected to be completed by April 2024.

The report notes that demolition will be “extremely complex” due to the car park’s close proximity to the railway, Aldi and Asda. Permission will need to be granted by Network Rail before any work can take place.

There’s no word yet on when work on the new campus will start, with the planning application still undecided as of posting.
