Bridgend College has submitted a full planning application for a new campus at Cheapside in Bridgend town centre.
The plans are largely unchanged from those published during the pre-application consultation in September-October of this year.
The main building would be built at the current Bridgend police station, with a “tower” built on the current (closed) Cheapside multi-storey car park.
The two buildings will be up to six storeys in height. The main building will also have a “green roof” with solar panels. Welsh Government funding hasn’t yet been formally confirmed as far as I can tell, though the fact it’s at this advanced a stage suggests the finances of the estimated £50million project are agreed or close to being agreed.
The full plans are available at the Bridgend Council planning register – here.
