Bridgend Council has published a notice that it intends to issue another compulsory purchase order (CPO) in relation to Porthcawl regeneration (pdf).
A CPO was issued in October 2021 for Coney beach/funfair and some of the access roads to Sandy Bay.
The latest CPO will include the southern half of Griffin Park as well as the Sandy Bay site itself – everything in the red lines below (pdf).
The latest regeneration vision proposes a housing-led development at Sandy Bay with an extension to Griffin Park and a mixed-use development at the current Coney Beach/funfair site. Some (but not all) of the land at Griffin Park will be needed for a new access road to Sandy Bay.
The plan is on display at Porthcawl library during normal opening hours.
