The Parc Derwen “village” development is entering its final stages of development and one of the final major planning applications was recently lodged with Bridgend Council by Persimmon.
The plans include 9 retail units and 44 apartments, which (if approved) will be built at land designated in the original masterplan for a “district centre” to the west of the village at Parc Derwen Road. 11 of the apartments are expected to be affordable.
The development will consist of two three-storey blocks either side of Parc Derwen Road (which will be traffic-calmed). More than 120 parking spaces will be provided for apartment residents, customers, visitors and retail staff.
Persimmon proposes 36 one-bedroom apartments and 8 two-bedroom apartments. One of the retail units will be just under 400sqm, the other eight will be around 100-135sqm.
