Valleys 2 Coast housing association (named in the documents, but not on the planning portal) have submitted plans for an apartment block at Old Station Road in Porthcawl.
The site was formerly a bus depot and MOT centre. The principle of residential development has already been established as planning permission has been granted for similar developments in the local area within the last 10 years.
The apartment block – which would be up to 5 storeys in height directly next to the A4106 – will contain 20 flats. Of these, seventeen will be 1-bedroom and three will be 2-bedroom.
10 parking spaces would be provided as well as a secure cycle store.
The original proposal – before a pre-application consultation – had a larger footprint with 23 apartments. The scheme was revised after planning officers thought this would result in “overdevelopment” of the plot.
