A special meeting of Bridgend Council’s Planning Committee is set to be held on Thursday 31st July 2025 to decide on three planning applications for new schools (pdf).
The three projects set to be decided at the meeting include:
- A new English-medium school in North Cornelly.
- Demolition of Corneli Primary School, with a new Welsh-medium school (expanded Ysgol Y Ferch o’r Sger) built in its place.
- The new single-site Mynydd Cynffig Primary School and replacement allotments.
The council needs to decide on the three schools by the end of the month to secure Welsh Government funding.
Members of the planning committee will undertake site visits on Wednesday 30th July.
