Yesterday, Bridgend Council’s Cabinet was set to sign-off on a 35-year lease of Llangeinor playing fields and pavilion to Llangenior FC under the council’s Community Asset Transfer scheme (pdf).

As part of the agreement, the council will also provide £160,000 to the club from the Community Asset Transfer fund.

Llangeinor FC have already secured £285,000 towards the cost of a replacement pavilion from the FAW’s Cymru Football Foundation. The total cost of the new pavilion is just under £436,000.

Subject to approval, the majority of the BCBC funding (£150,000) will go towards the new pavilion project, with £10,000 going towards new pitch maintenance equipment.
