Plans have been submitted for a new pub/bar and function room at the former Izzit accessories store on Nolton Street in Bridgend town centre.

The new venue would operate across three floors.

The ground floor – which would incorporate part of Lees Arcade – would be a “traditional style” pub with a basement cellar.

The first floor – the former Uwe Jantzen Hair Design, which is accessible from a separate entrance on Nolton Street – will be converted to a cocktail bar (“The Loft”) with toilets.

Meanwhile, the second floor – part of former solicitors – will become a function room and kitchen.

It would be the latest proposal for a new nighttime venue in Bridgend town centre, with a sports bar (“The Bryggen Eynde”) recently opening at the former Dorothy Perkins store on Caroline Street.

Plans also remain live for the relocation of Hobos to the former fire station on Derwen Road, as well as a new bar/club at a former tanning studio on Queen Street.
