Bridgend Council’s Cabinet will be asked to begin the process of selecting a contractor to undertake a £20million refurbishment of Porthcawl’s Grand Pavilion (pdf).
Last month, the Cabinet was warned that conditions of the UK Government’s grant towards the project require the work to be completed by Spring 2025.
Awen Cultural Trust has taken on project management responsibilities on BCBC’s behalf, with detailed design work underway. An update on the design is expected in December 2023.
The Cabinet will be asked to allow officers to start the work on a tender for construction, which is currently expected to start in Spring 2024.
