Bridgend Council has submitted plans for a new walking and cycling route connecting Bryncethin Primary School to the Ogmore Valley Community Route (NCN4).
The 433-metre-long path – recently awarded £105,000 in the latest round of Welsh Government funding – will run to the north of the school close to the disused railway. It’ll join the Ogmore Valley path close to the river monitoring station.
Space has been provided for benches, while an extra gate to the school car park/drop-off area will be provided from the path as a shortcut.
Once completed, it should provide a more convenient traffic-free route to the primary school from the eastern half of Brynmenyn and make it quicker to get to/from Tondu and Ynysawdre from the existing walking and cycling path.
