Traffic light replacement programme “could cause disruption”
Bridgend Council has given advanced warning of possible disruption at two major road junctions in Bryntirion and Bridgend town centre.
Over the next few weeks, traffic lights are to be replaced at the Broadlands junction (A473-Bryngolau junction) and the Park Street-Angel Street junction.
The work will take place in two stages:
- Broadlands junction: 23rd May 2022 – 23rd June 2022.
- Park Street junction: 27th June 2022 – 5th August 2022.
Temporary traffic lights will be installed, but this could cause delays.
It’s unclear if the Park Street-Angel Street junction works are related to proposed air quality control measures.
New measures to deal with traffic problems at Maesteg bus station
Bridgend Council has published a new traffic order to deal with problems caused by vehicles parking illegally at Maesteg Bus Station and using it as a turning circle.
Last month, First Cymru decided to stop calling at the bus station following an accident. Following new traffic order, services will be restored.
The new order will make the bus bays clearer and introduce no waiting and no loading restrictions in the bus station lay-by itself.
The order will come into force from Monday 23rd May 2022 and will last for at least 18 months.
