Bridgend College recently submitted plans for an 8,500sqm technology centre at their Pencoed campus.
The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) Academy – as it’s been dubbed – will house the college’s skilled trades courses, with dedicated workshops for vehicle mechanics, welding, mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as IT labs, science labs and other teaching space.
The building will also include a cafe and a multi-purpose hall/lecture theatre. It’ll also become the main reception building for the Pencoed campus and has been designed so it can be expanded to meet future needs.
