The fate of the old Pencoed Primary site has now been sealed by BCBC’s Planning Committee, but the future of the former Heol-y-Cyw Primary – which recently operated as a satellite campus of Pencoed Primary – is set to take a similar path.
Valleys 2 Coast housing association have submitted plans for 13 affordable homes at the former school site on High Street.
The proposed development is made up of four 2-bedroom houses, three 3-bedroom houses, two 4-bedroom houses and four 1-bedroom apartments. 29 parking spaces are also proposed.
The design and access statement (pdf) states this wouldn’t lead to over-development of the site and they believe the mix of houses will complement those in the area in terms of design and appearance, though 21 trees will need to be cut down.
The transport assessment (pdf) adds that while the development could produce an extra 52 car journeys every day, it shouldn’t have an impact on local road safety.
