In the last few weeks, a planning application has been submitted for a mixed-use development at the former Ffaldau Arms pub in Pontycymer.
The proposed development would consist of 14 apartments and 3 ground-floor retail units separated into two blocks.
The main block – which will include the retail units (and 8 apartments across three storeys) – will directly face Victoria Street. Undercroft access will lead to a second block of apartments (6 across two storeys) and a parking area to the rear.
The apartments would be a mix of one and two-bedroom units.
There are not believed to be any risks posed by former mine workings in the area.
