A pre-application consultation is open on proposals for apartments at the former Fulgoni’s cafe at John Street in Porthcawl.
Fulgoni’s closed in August 2024 after almost 100 years of trading.
The redevelopment is proposed by Linc housing association. The apartment block would be five storeys high, consisting of 36 one-bedroom apartments and 8 two-bedroom apartments. All of the apartments would be affordable.
As the plans stand, 27 parking spaces would be provided for future residents, with three EV charging points. The area around the apartment block would be landscaped too.
In the accompanying design and access statement, the developers say that the current Porthcawl police station site could be included as part of a future second phase.
The consultation closes on Wednesday 11th December 2024. All of the details are available here.
