Bridgend Council’s cabinet is set to agree to plans for a “dog trail” in Porthcawl, sponsored by Dogs Trust (pdf).
The Mini Snoopy Trail would be a companion to a similar trail in Cardiff. The plans would see a dog-friendly trail linking sculptures of the Charlie Brown/Peanuts character Snoopy (pictured), with the “game” being to try and visit at least six of them. There will also be an educational programme in schools across the south of Wales at the same time.
BCBC is expected to make a one-off £30,000 contribution to the dog trail which would come out of the tourism fund, though business sponsorship could help cut the cost.
The aim is for the Mini Snoopy Trail to be ready sometime in 2022.
