Bridgend Council’s domiciliary care service (aka. home help) has been given a near-faultless review by Care Inspectorate Wales (pdf).
The domiciliary care service provides home-based personal care to enable people to live more independently.
Feedback from service users was, on the whole, very good. People describe friendly relationships with staff, with some praising their personalised care and attention to detail.
The management of the service was praised as well. Inspectors say accurate records are kept and “every possible measure is taken to prevent abuse”.
There are no concerns about the supply of PPE during the Covid pandemic.
Care Inspectorate Wales hasn’t made any recommendations for immediate improvements (because there’s no need), though say that service providers should notify the inspectorate of incidents resulting in injury or illness to a client. The council report (pdf) – set to be discussed this morning in a scrutiny committee – says this has already been addressed.
