A “new” community recycling centre will open at Pyle Industrial Estate on Thursday (14th March) after a lengthy delay.
The £2.3million recycling centre was granted planning permission in May 2019 and was originally expected to open in the summer 2021. The delay was largely down to securing the necessary permits.
The Tythegston tip closed permanently yesterday afternoon (11th March), meaning only the Maesteg and Brynmenyn sites will be available for the next two days (though Brynmenyn closes on Wednesdays).
The Pyle recycling centre will take Tythegston’s place in the rolling weekday closures, which now looks like this:
- Pyle will close on Tuesdays.
- Brynmenyn will close on Wednesdays.
- Maesteg will close on Thursdays.
