A pre-application consultation is open on a proposed new housing development near Brackla Industrial Estate.
A pre-application consultation is exactly that – a public consultation that takes place before a full planning application is submitted to Bridgend Council in order to gather views and, where necessary, make changes.
The proposal is separate from council plans to build a replacement for Ysgol Bro Ogwr nearby.
The proposal – from Wales & West Housing Association and Manning Construction – seeks to build 62 new affordable and social homes on land around Shepherds Veterinary Hospital.
The new homes would be made up of 12 one-bedroom apartments (in three blocks), 34 two-bedroom houses and 16 three-bedroom houses.
The development would be split in two, with 27 houses being built on the lower land immediately next to the Princess Way roundabout and the remaining 12 apartments and 23 houses being built to the rear of Shepherds Vets.
The pre-application consultation is open until 18th February 2022 – so there’s still a fortnight or so left. All of the details and additional documents are available here.
