Coychurch Crematorium is set to increase cremation fees by 10.5% for 2023-24 as a final budget for the coming financial year is discussed later today (pdf).
The cost of a cremation will increase from £745.70 to £824.00. The increase will bring Coychurch in line with the median average charged by other crematoria in southern Wales.
The introduction of direct cremations (cremations without a funeral/memorial service) in this financial year was said to be “well-received”.
However, the fee for hiring a chapel for a memorial service without a cremation will also increase from £82.10 – currently the lowest such charge in the region – to £220.00 during weekdays and £440.00 on Saturdays.
