A planning application has been submitted for a mixed-use development on land next to the Coity bypass.
The proposed development would be built off the bypass’s western roundabout, to the south of the Coity village traffic light junction.
Land for commercial/retail was allocated on the eastern edge of the Trem-y-Castell development, but this is no longer considered to be viable. The planning application effectively relocates this to the western side.
The proposal would be split into two phases. The first phase would see a nursery built off Trem-y-Castell itself, with two retail and two business units provided next to the roundabout in a single block.
The nursery and its car park would be accessed from Trem-y-Castell, while the retail/business units would be accessed via the roundabout. 8 electric vehicle charging spaces would be provided in total.
In the future, a second phase (only an outline at the moment) would see an additional – much larger – business unit near the roundabout. Enough room would also be left for a future link road through to Brackla Industrial Estate from the roundabout.
