Bridgend Council’s Cabinet is to consider a business case submitted by Llangynwyd Rangers Boys & Girls Club for a Community Asset Transfer of Llangynwyd Playing Fields on a 35-year lease (pdf).
The transfer would include the sports pavilion, two sports pitches and a car park. The club has already taken responsibility for pitch maintenance on an interim lease.
The club’s business plan proposes refurbishment of the pavilion, improved drainage to – and reprofiling of – the current pitches and the development of the girl’s & women’s teams.
The club also aims for the men’s team to reach/meet the requirements of Tier 2 of the FAW pyramid within 10 years.
The club are seeking funding from Bridgend Council’s Community Asset Transfer fund to cover grounds maintenance and refurbishment of the pavilion. They’ve requested just over £217,000 from the CAT fund for this work, with a further £14,500 coming from other sources.
