Valleys 2 Coast housing association has submitted plans to demolish and replace the Oxford Court flats in Ogmore Vale.
The site consists of 8 three-storey blocks of flats, which back onto Ogmore Vale Primary School. Though having fallen into disrepair and no longer considered fit for purpose, the last residents were moved out in March 2021 leaving the site vacant.
V2C is proposing to replace the flats with 6 one-bedroom apartments in the northern half of the site. Alongside Tynewydd Road in the southern half of the site, 3 two-bedroom houses and 2 three-bedroom houses would be built.
21 parking spaces would be provided, most of which would remain in the current central parking area.
There are concerns about coal mining underneath the site, which may have left shallow mine workings. More work is required to determine soil stability and levels of mine gases.
