Transport for Wales will be introducing a new timetable from this Sunday (12th December).
The main development for Bridgend is an extra late service between Cardiff Central and Maesteg on weekdays.
The last train from Cardiff Central to Maesteg will now leave Cardiff at 22:37 Monday-Thursday. On Fridays, it will be a minute earlier at 22:36.
Trains on different routes already stop at Pontyclun, Llanharan and Pencoed between 22:00-00:00, but you would assume these extra late services will stop there too. Edit: Apparently, these “late” trains will go from Cardiff to Bridgend without stopping.
All of this comes with a health warning, of course. TfW hasn’t published the updated timetables at the time of posting and there are ongoing problems with service reliability and staff shortages – so check train times before travelling regardless.
