Talbot Green-based developer, Llanmoor Homes, has submitted a planning application for 35 new homes and five self-build plots on land to the south of Bettws.
The land – at City Farm, directly south of the Trem-y-Mor centre – was included in the current Local Development Plan for housing, though the proposed development is slightly larger than the original allocation.
The development would consist of 6 two-bedroom houses (said to be affordable), 21 three-bedroom houses, 8 four-bedroom houses as well as five plots for self-build homes.
Three areas of public open space are proposed. These include a timber play area, a landscaped attenuation pond and what’s described as a “flexible community space” with a viewing platform looking to the south-west and links to the Ogwr Ridgeway walking route.
It’s also hoped that this development will eventually tie into a future regeneration scheme at (the now mostly cleared) Woodlands Close/City Road estate.
