The Welsh Government has lifted its “call-in” holding request concerning the Hybont project in Brynmenyn and Bryncethin.
The Welsh Government reserved the right to “call-in” and make a decision on the application themselves. They usually only do this if a planning application has a wider-than-local impact or is a “development of national interest” in some way.
However, in a letter to BCBC (pdf) – dated 27th March 2025 – the Welsh Government said the issues are “of no more than local importance” and should not be called-in.
This means Bridgend Council’s Planning Committee’s recent decision to approve the project stands – subject to conditions laid out by planning officers.
